Our Mission

The April Smiles Humanitarian Foundation (ASH) was founded in 2017 with a sincere dedication to providing compassionate assistance to women, children, senior citizens, and individuals facing physical difficulties. Our mission, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is to promote education, improve nutrition, reduce hunger, ensure food security, and advocate for access to clean water for better health and well-being, all while striving to reduce inequalities.

Our Impact

600 SANITARY PADS DELIVERED

100 Sanitary pads was distributed to school girls across Nigeria in commemoration of International Women’s Day 2024.

300 PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Bags, notebooks, pencils, etc was distributed to 300 primary school in 2019 to support their educational pursuits.

35% DISABILITY SUPPORT

35% of our previous outreach efforts have been to the homes of children living with disabilities.

3K GALLONS OF FRESH WATER

We have installed water wells in communities that has provided 3k gallons of fresh water per year.

25% ORPHANAGES SUPPORT

25% of all our resources has been dedicated to children in orphanages and motherless homes

150 SENIOR CITIZENS

Our covid-19 pandemic food intervention in 2020 benefited 150 senior citizens in Oyo, Nigeria.

Adedoja Adeyemi

Adedoja Adeyemi

Director

Adedoja is a passionate advocate for African history, art, culture, and tourism from Oyo town. She holds a Bachelor's degree in History and International Studies and a Master's degree in African and Diaspora Studies (with Distinction) from the University of Lagos, where she was also the best graduating student. A multifaceted talent, Adedoja is an upcoming actress, having made her debut in the Netflix Original series Anikulapo and featured on BBC. Driven by a commitment to humanitarian service, Adedoja co-founded the April Smiles Humanitarian Foundation, dedicating her energy to empowering disadvantaged communities. Beyond her philanthropic work, Adedoja holds the title of Miss Oyo State 2021 and is an avid researcher, fueled by a quest for knowledge and understanding. Her achievements have been recognized with several awards, including, African Beauty Queens Hall of Fame, Young African Leaders Initiative Award of Impact amongst others.

Jamiu Owolabi

Jamiu Owolabi is a multifaceted professional with a strong academic background in the humanities. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and International Studies, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Social and Cultural History. As a writer, blogger, and grassroots mobilizer, Jamiu has established himself as a thoughtful and engaging voice on various social, cultural and political issues. He is the founder and editor of The Source Lens Media, a platform that showcases his writing and provides a space for news, insightful commentary and analysis.

Adeniji Kehinde

Adeniji Kehinde

Adeniji Basit Kehinde is an accomplished alumnus of Ekiti State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science Education. Based in Oyo, Oyo State, Basit has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to humanitarian work. His selfless efforts were recognized by the Students Association of Ekiti State University, which honored him as the Philanthropist Student of the Year in 2022. Notably, Basit is a key organizer of Eid Fest, the largest youth gathering in Oyo town.

Adeyemi Adeteju

Adeyemi Adeteju

She is a Communications and Administrative professional who has demonstrated her skills both in Nigeria and the UK. She has a BSc. in Mass Communication from Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State and a MSc. in Industrial and Personnel Management from University of Ibadan, Oyo State. She also has a professional certificate in Product Management. In 2017, she cofounded Adeyemi Sisters Special Foundation.

Ayaba Mujidat Adeyemi

Ayaba Mujidat Adeyemi

Ayaba Mujidat Adeyemi is one of the wives of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and married to the monarch over 3 decades ago. She is a businesswoman, contractor and a supplier. She is founder of Queens World Ltd. She has a Secretariat Administration Certification from BEPO Secretariat Institute, Ibadan, Nigeria. She was nominated for dignitaries award coming in May 2025 at the British Parliament

Clemson Ayegbusi

Clemson Ayegbusi

Clemson Ayegbusi is an Established Opinion Leaders Specialist at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria. He serves as the principal senior advisor on public diplomacy engagement with established opinion leaders including influential individuals, think tanks, syndicates, business leaders and professional institutions. He manages and implements crucial U.S. government academic exchanges and professional development training programs like the Fulbright program (for Nigerians and Americans), International Visitor Leadership Program, the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program, Study of the U.S. Institutes, citizen exchanges, speaker programs, and new initiatives from the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, with an annual budget in excess of one million dollars. Clemson facilitates higher education partnerships between the United States and Nigeria universities and provides support for U.S. scholars, students and professionals in Nigeria. He has organized several educational, cultural and alumni outreach activities to advance U.S. foreign policy objectives. Prior to joining the U.S. Mission in 2009, Clemson worked in Pfizer and Big Treat Plc as a quality control scientist. He was a Program Officer at Wiseup Foundation for the Girl-Child where he designed leadership, education, and entrepreneurship programs for girls in Lagos State. Clemson earned degrees in Science Laboratory Technology and Biochemistry. He holds a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs and a Master of Philosophy in Political Science (International Relations).

Doba Afolabi

Doba Afolabi

Adedoba Afolabi is an award winning studio artist based in New York. He is represented by several art galleries in the USA with wide range of acquisitions worldwide. Details of his biography can be openly reached online but his Instagram @diartporainc or Linkdln as Doba Afolabi would reveal much about his professional exploits. Having gained enormous recognition within art brokers and major global art markets like Art Expo , Frieze , and Basel to mention a few, he is presently a member at Metropolitan Museum New York and an inductee of USA Department of State Art in Embassies Program, enabling an extensive show of his pieces in United States Embassies abroad.
